The correct name of our town is ZAKOPANE (not Zacopane, Zakopan, etc.)
Local people (especially older ones) like to be greeted with Dzien Dobry (jayn DOH-bry = Good Morning).
The nearest airport to Zakopane is Krakow Balice airport located 100km far from Zakopane, the second one is Katowice Pyrzowice (200km far from Zakopane).
The various colours of the trails in Tatra National Park don't indicate the degree of difficulty.
The only places in the Tatra National Park where the dogs are allowed are Chocholowska Valley and Droga pod Reglami.
The only places in the Tatra National Park where the bikes are allowed are: Droga pod Reglami (10 km /easy-medium ), Chocholowska Valley - from the parking on Siwa Polana up to the refuge on the Chocholowska Clearing (7 km / medium), black trail from Brzeziny, through the Dolina (Valley) Suchej Wody to the refuge Murowaniec on the Hala Gasienicowa (6.5 km / difficult).
