CHILDREN in ZAKOPANE
We are often asked for advice on things for children to do in Zakopane. Here are some of our suggestions:
GUBAŁÓWKA - lots of attractions, scenic views (all day):
Go to the top of Gubałówka by funicular, and go down again on the dry sledge run (700m in about 5 minutes). Option for younger children: a ride in the horse-drawn vehicle along the ridge of Gubałówka to the chair lift Szymaszkowa - descent by the chair-lift (breathtaking panorama on the Tatras and Zakopane) - relaxation in the outdoor thermal swimming pool (+28C) near the Mercury Hotel - return to the town centre along a busy road (1,5km) on foot or by mini-bus or taxi.
Option for older children: walk to the chair-lift instead of taking the horse-drawn ride and take a fitness test in the Rope Park Trollandia on the way (a sequence of rope bridges, nets, descents and runways).

FOR LITTLE ATHLETES:
The Frajda sports school organises activities for children from 6 and up in summer. Children can be enrolled for training for a morning (11.00 a.m. - 1 p.m.), an afternoon (15.00 - 17.00) or both with a lunch break. The training includes field games, walking and cycling trips, and an all day trip once a week. Children who do not speak Polish have to be enrolled a few days in advance and so that arrangements can be made for their activities to be led in English.

CRECHE:
The Kubuœ Puchatek (Winnie the Pooh) Kindergarten offers all-day care of children whose parents would like to spend a day climbing in the High Tatras or go on a difficult trip. The kindergarten welcomes children from 3 to 7 years of age from Mondays to Fridays.

COACH TRIPS:
One-day coach trips from Zakopane are organized every day during the summer holiday. For children we do recommend rafting in the Dunajec River Gorge (smaller children on rafts and children over 10 on dinghies), a visit to Tatralandia - an aqua village in Slovakia; a trip Round the Tatras including a visit to the Oravski castle and impressive Demianovska cave (both in Slovakia) and going to the High Tatras, including going to the top of Łomnica (the second highest peak in the Tatras - 2.632m) by cable car.
